for the study of dance cultures of Central Asia, the Middle East and North African countries. Open Field is a meeting point of these cultures with contemporary dance. We connect dance with live music, mystique and poetry.
Our aim is to:
CREATE a space for meeting cultures and traditions of Central Asia, the Middle East and North Africa and so to enrich the spiritual and cultural values of Czech society.
INVOLVE the Czech public (both experts and laymen) in all our activities.
FIGHT PREJUDICE by means of intercultural dialogue, connecting majority and minority groups in order to bring them closer together and help them respect eachother.
ESTABLISH the Open Field multicultural centre with focus on ethnic dance and music.
Our activities:
WE ORGANIZE activities for the public – we have organized several international festivals, many dance and musical productions, lectures, meetings, art, dance and music workshops.
WE SUPPORT those who want to study and create with us. Open Field covers the dance group Erfané and Hearn Gadbois‘ drum ensemble.
WE COOPERATE with various NGOs: Berkat, Dancers for Peace, Tolerance 95, Hlasohled, free artistic groups such as - Tschiltan (Ger) and individual artists - Hearn Gadbois (USA), Sashar Zarif (Azerbaj/Kan), Maya Sapera (Belgium), Mahabub Khan (India), Shahab Tolouie (Iran) and others
