Sufism and its path to enlightement. Examples of Attar’s works to demonstrate the use of metaphors and hidden meaning in Sufi literature. Attar was one of the most important Persian mystics and poets of the 12th century. He also discovered the genius of Rumi. Attar’s epic „The Conference of Birds“ was prohibited in his days and Attar himself had to use a sophisticated strategy in order to live long in peace and be able to write.
