RUMI ALIVE

10.11.2007 - Theater in Dlouhá, Prague

A significant event of the festival was the RUMI ALIVE concert where the audiance had the unique possibility to experience that Rumi´s poetry really lives in music and dance.

This concert was an improvised meeting of musicians and dancers who are inspired by Rumi´s poetry. Sufi mysticism was present especially in improvisation which is the process of instant creativity, unrepeatable, transforming and very similar to mystical change, giving oneself to divine inspiration in the way of Rumi. The merging of ancient tradition and current art created a unique atmosphere. „The Lament“ of the nay reed flute, string instruments, rythms of drums and whirling of dancers changed Saturday´s evening into an extraordinery tour into a dreamy world.
