Open field covers a dance and drum ensemble. The ensemble consists of students of Rena Milgrom and Hearn Gadbois. We also cooperate with external artists, dancers and drummers. The studium of dance and the School of Rhythm takes place in studio Zambra, located in central Prague.
Is a dance ensemble lead by the choreographer Rena Milgrom. The repertoire consists of dances inspired by Central Asia (Afghanistan, Tadjikistan, Iran) and North Africa. The choreographies merge the dance traditions of these regions with contemporary dance and theatre. Many works are based on Persian mystic poetry by Rumi, Hafez, Attar, Chajjam and the movements and lines associated with calligraphy.
Consists of School of Rhytm students (Zambra Studio). Under the leadership of Hearn Gadbois - drummer, percussionist and teacher, students learns to develop their rythmic abilities on a whole range of drums (dumback, frame drums, daf) and other percusion instruments (bamboo dao-daos, bamboo sticks, finger cymbals, Tibetian singing bowls or e.g. beer cups).
Hearn leads his students both to independent performance and to group cooperation. Students learn specific rythms patterns of various cultures of Africa, America, Central Asia and the Middle East, from which Hearn composes very creative compositions for dance.
